Panasonic has announced the development of its next-generation video-focused camera: the Lumix DC-GH6. Few details have been disclosed at this point, but here’s what we do know: Both the sensor and ‘high-speed’ processor are completely new. That combination will allow for 10-bit 4:2:2 DCI 4K/60p capture, with no recording time limits. It also can also record 10-bit 5.7K/60p footage, though we suspect it might be 4:2:0. Both high frame rate (10-bit 4K/120p) and slow & quick modes are also available, meaning audio recording is possible with 120p footage. The ‘5.7K’ claim strongly implies the move to a 24MP sensor. The GH6 is expected to ship by the end of 2021 for around $2500. Excited about the GH6? Let us know in the comments.
